Once again on the steps of Light's Hope Chapel, a fierce battle broke out that saw the paladins vastly outnumbered. Armed with the Necropolis named Acherus and an unending Scourge army, he marched through the Plaguelands, making quick work of the Scarlet Crusade, their bodies fueling his army. Years later, leading up to the Wrath of the Lich King expansion, Arthas would lead another massive assault against the Chapel. With the eventual defeat of Kel'Thuzad in Naxxramas, the area around Light's Hope Chapel was secured for the time being. Towards the end of classic World of Warcraft, Light's Hope Chapel served as the main hub for Horde and Alliance heroes fighting against the Scourge in Scholomance, Stratholme, and eventually Naxxramas. This brings us to how Light's Hope Chapel first appeared in classic World of Warcraft. The paladins at the Chapel suffered one final assault from the Scourge, and despite the Scourge's advantage, they repelled the attack with the assistance of Maxwell. The Argent Dawn made their home in Light's Hope Chapel. Following his death, the paladins split into the Scarlet Crusade and the Argent Dawn. He was later raised as a death knight and appeared as one of the original four horseman in the Naxxramas raid. He was a powerful paladin and he was a skilled warrior and those two are not exclusive of each other.īut whether he could stand up to Denathrius as he is now, if he just happened to have Ashbringer? Who knows? Could Alexandros at his prime stand up to Denathrius? Maybe.As the war with the Lich King waged on, the Silver Hand lost one of their leaders, Alexandros Mograine. From the description, it sounds like Consecrate (given some allowances for story vs gameplay).Īlexandros' faith and power in the Light was unshakeable (whether that's still true I'm not sure - given he wasn't sure why he was in Maldraxxus instead of Bastion, it sounds like his faith has been shaken at least a little) and that faith was rooted in love for his family and his people. The point is that he's clearly using raw holy power, if Eligor is to be believed. That states that his faith and his status of paladin are not questionned. Now I didn't do the necrolord campaign, but it is said that he was send in Maldraxxus because his faith in the Light was due to his attachment to his familly, so he mays have been sent to the Kyrian for his paladin faith but was decided otherwise. He still is one, and therefore his connection to the light isn't cut. And given that, the fact that he doesn't look like a paladin in Maldraxxus, but rather a warrior, doesn't mean he is no longer a paladin. But he's way closer to the warrior side than the priest side, that was my point. Alexandros use a sword and have holy power, which make him a paladin. There's no chance he can stand up Denathrius alone.ĮDIT : Right, I will rewrite this because people are getting crazy. He had a holy relic but really he's just Varian with more faith and the Ashbringer. Lorewise, Alexandros wasn't a powerful paladin, but an incredible warrior that fought for the Holy Light.
He can still be a paladin without having a golden armor.
